Green Art Retail

Replay Store by Vertical Garden Design, Barcelona

Indoor vertical garden in Replay’s flagship store in Barcelona.
Replay’s store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona now hosts a vertical garden of just above 100m2. In the storefront location, the two storey wall is set in a dramatic and playful environment with waterfalls, sculptures and contrasting materials.
As a great place to study nature’s own vertical gardens, the waterfalls were a natural starting point for the plant design. Looking closer to the environment around a waterfall, growing conditions change with linear patterns of fissures and cracks in the underlying exposed rock, or the rapidly decreasing moisture already small steps away from the immediate vicinity of the falling water. In such a manner, like the erratic and geometric cracking of an eroding rock, groups and strings of plants were laid out in an organic pattern.
The generous surface allow for many kinds of plants. Larger groups of begonias, different ferns, small (but long) aroids like the common Philodendron scandens or Scindapsus pictus, sets the background for more dramatic effects of cascading fronds of Nephrolepis exaltata and Polypodium subauriculatum or he larger aroids like Philodendron giganteum and P. erubescens.
This outdoor vertical garden in Barcelona is located in a patio in the back of Replay’s store. Partially shadowed by surrounding buildings, the southwest facing wall has the upper area well exposed to the hot Mediterranean sun, whereas the lower part is mostly in shadow.

This difference in sun exposure gave way for more typical mediterranean plants in the top – such as Lavandula, Rosmarinus and Artemisia – and more shadow preferring plants like Chlorophytum and Fatsia in the lower area. In between there are a few plants that will gain some more size, the idea being to create a strong and wild growing surface, contrasting the metal grid from which it extends.

Fluid forms compose the continuous exhibition loop, reinforcing the varied environment and rhythmical spatial sequences. A parametrically derived spatial structure unfolds within the interior spaces, displaying and organizing a range of projects and explorations in cocoon-like volumes. A network of webbed and contoured forms stretch between the ceiling and floor
to create a series of contrasting projection screens and room dividers.

Karl Lagerfeld presented CHANEL'S Fall Winter 2011/2012 Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris. The dome was transformed into Paris' iconic address, Place Vendôme, first occupied by Mademoiselle Chanel in 1937 when she moved into Le Ritz.

Environmental Design - Style~Vision

The Fashion Runway at Chanel

Chanel fall/winter 08 fashion show, Chanel Chief Designer, Karl Lagerfeld topped himself by showcasing his youthful vision for fall on a giant Chanel-themed carousel that rotated at the center of the runway. Instead of the usual fairground seats of sculpted horses, this whirligig was fitted with super-sized bags, shoes, pearl chains, camellias and even Coco Chanel‘s signature hat. And at the end of a show, in which the only bag was a tiny egg-sized clutch for evening, the models clung to the giant accessories as the carousel twirled.

Contrex Sells Its Water ... ...
Contrex - Ma Contrexpérience 97s
- New Contrex water Ad for the Ladies

Contrex
, the French bottled water company launched a new ad campaign for its Contrex mineral water with high calcium content that supposedly speeds up the metabolism, thus burning calories and helping those who drink it lose weight. The company rolled out a fun and healthy ad campaign appealing to the ladies auditory with a giant neon male stripper.

The YouTube video shows a row of pink bicycles lined up in front of a historical building somewhere in Paris. Curious young ladies approach the stylish looking bikes and begin pedaling. There are transparent cables leading from the bikes to the wall and as pedaling gets more intensive pink neon flows run to the building wall to unveil a male who begins to dance and undress. The excited ladies must pedal to keep the stripper moving. In the end, he appears with a card placed over his intimate part of the body telling the women they have just burned 2000 calories.

Contrex produces water with extra essential vitamins added, thus targeting consumers that take care of their health on regular basis. The new campaign includes a Facebook application called ‘Mes Défis Minceur’ (my weight loss challenges), which turns a fat-burning process into a game.

The video, produced by agency Marcel VW is criticized for being a fake. Landmarks in Paris are pretty recognizable, but nobody can really identify where this is taking place or confirm it happened at all, says Adverveblog. Citizens of Paris claim they never heard about it and YouTube users.

However, the aim of the video, which is a part of Contrex’s ‘My Contrexperience’ digital campaign, whose manifesto is that we’d lose more weight if the process were funnier was achieved.

Break Fast

A kind of taste pack for oatmeal. This package contains the right amount of oatmeal with added sugar and salt. You break your BREAK FAST pack over a bowl, add water and cook in the microwave. Then you can tentatively serve with cold milk. The idea is to target a new audience that otherwise would not eat oatmeal, but also to those who are usually in a hurry in the morning and tend to skip today’s most important meal, breakfast. Break it fast and have a BREAK FAST! (Designer: Niklas Hessman)
